A delegation led by Hon’ble Chief Minister, Haryana visited Israel from April 11-15, 2011. On request of the Hon’ble Vice- Chancellor Dr. (Mrs.) Pankaj Mittal to the Chief Minister, a team comprising of Dr. Arjun Singh Saini, Joint Director Horticulture and Dr. Ved Parkash Goyal, Deputy Director, Horticulture visited the University and finally the project was approved by the Chief Minister Haryana.

The Project Officer from Centre of Excellence for Vegetables, Gharonda under Indo- Israel project was invited in the presence of many villagers to give a presentation on new farming practices based on technology transfer from Israel for better yield. Continuing the same tradition, the University established a Front Line Demonstration Centre for the villagers to make them aware of the modern farming practices while taking advantage of technology transfer from Israel to grow quality vegetables and enhancement in their production.

The Front Line Demonstration Centre under the centrally sponsored scheme of the National Horticulture Mission under the supervision of Nodal Officer has become operational in an area of 3 acre in the University Campus. It can further be replicated on large scale at later stage. The first harvesting has started in first week of March, 2013.”
